Our pastors have lost their mantle to preach the gospel.
Seth Gruber [pro-lifer] mentioned a statement made by Pastor Jack Hibbs in a speech at the TPFAITH convention, where he said,
“IF pastors and Christians cannot preach against Prop 1 [which put up to 9-month abortion in the California Constitution] …. You have abandoned your pulpit, you have walked away from your authority, your mantle has fallen off.” [my BOLD]
In other words, they no longer deserve to be in the pulpit, they have lost their spiritual authority to preach, and their prophetic mantle has left them. In other words, many of our Evangelical pastors must resign. The anointing from God has left them. God can no longer speak through them.
In Hosea 4:6 we read a familiar phrase, “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” However, everyone who quotes this verse forgets to quote the remaining part of the verse which explains the real thought.
“Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest [preacher] to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
[prodigals]. [my insert] Ouch!!!
Because these priests [preachers] have rejected the knowledge of God, God will not allow them to preach, since they have forgotten God, and their children will be prodigals.
This refusal to speak FOR GOD into the church and the culture means these pastors much resign from the pulpit and let God raise up a new pastor who has faith and courage.
In this case, most Evangelical pastors in California must resign, because they refused to address the issue of the barbarity of killing 9-month-old babies [Prop 1] who are ready to be born. It is time for the elders of the churches in California to confront their pastors about their cowardly behavior concerning Prop 1.
